Rooms and halls of varying sizes are available for hire in East Grinstead and surrounding villages. Demand is high, groups need to be flexible as to meeting days and times.
The list of premises gives website and contact details. Some have informative websites. Contact premises direct to discuss specific requirements and current availability/cost. The U3A is a registered charity which may attract a discount.
Groups are responsible for making bookings and, as necessary, cancellations. Premises to be hired in name of East Grinstead U3A (Group Name) with Group Leader or representative as contact point. Inform Treasurer immediately of any booking, or change of booking, giving details of group name, premises and day/time of hire, regular or one-off, and expected cost.
Groups should aim to cover cost of hire, when averaged out over period of time, by charging members an agreed session or, preferably, termly fee. Members to be notified in advance of any change in such fee. Group Leaders collect session fees and pay into the U3A bank account by the end of each month. Termly fees are usually paid in advance and paid directly by each member. Payments can be made either by BACS or by cheque (made out to East Grinstead U3A) and sent to the Treasurer. Always include a reference to identify the group. See Group Records Form for further payment/bank details.
Invoices for hire costs are paid by the U3A Treasurer. Most premises are invoiced in arrears, some in advance. Invoices can be sent directly to the Treasurer (usual practice if more than 1 group meets at a venue). Invoices sent to a Group Leader should be forwarded to Treasurer. If any queries regarding invoicing, please contact the Treasurer to discuss.
